Second Day

Rowie and Liv stretching

Today had a very similar start to yesterday, with early breakfast and off to training at 9am. After training and a pool recovery session, we headed back to the hotel for yet another great Vietnamese meal. After lunch we had a small ceremony, where the team was presented with matching game bags. A professional look for a professional team!

We left for our second practice match early in the afternoon, against a team that competes in the Vietnamese National League. The venue was only 15km away, but due to the constant Vietnamese peak hour traffic, the trip took an hour and a half!

Neira's going for a kill

During warm up it felt like we were playing a beach volleyball game, as we had to contend with the sun and the breeze J. We started strongly, winning the first two sets convincingly. There was some great serving from Neira and Westy, and formidable offence through the middle. In the third set the Vietnamese team put up more of a fight, but we were still able to come out on top. We played a fourth set for extra practice, and finished the game with a 4-0 win.

The trip home was long and very squishy in the bus, and everyone was keen to head straight to dinner. We’re about to have a movie night using the projector screen, then off to bed ready for our trip tomorrow to the new hotel where the tournament will be held.

Love Room 204 (Choaty and Jen)
