A little bit of ground hog day today, with a 7am breakkie, 9am training and then a big break before our 8pm game.
After a light recovery session in the pool and lunch as a team, we headed off to a big match against Jiangsu of China with the hopes of qualifying for the top four.
Straight off the bat China pulled out some huge outside hits and fast combinations that had us on the back foot. Despite our best efforts to pull together a string of points, our defense was shadowed by their power plays. Although the scores may not reflect it, we are playing some of the best volleyball we have played and we will continue working on the strong serving and defense that have characterized this trip.
We are looking forward to a couple of days without matches, with some time to recover and then train for our final matches on the weekend.
